Scopes include slabs, foundations, parking areas, curbs, gutters, and industrial concrete. ## General Contracting URL: https://hossassociates.com/general-contracting Hoss Associates manages commercial construction from planning through completion: schedules, materials, subcontractors, permitting, and execution. Concrete and framing are self-performed. ## Residential Concrete URL: https://hossassociates.com/residential-concrete Residential concrete covers driveways, patios, stamped concrete, and pool decks. Hoss replaces or builds full surfaces rather than patching a failed section. ## Framing URL: https://hossassociates.com/framing Hoss frames commercial and residential projects in wood and light-gauge metal stud, including new construction, additions, and interior build-outs. ## Warehouse Slab — Raleigh URL: https://hossassociates.com/projects/raleigh-warehouse-slab Service: Commercial Concrete Slab-on-grade for a warehouse bay, placed in three pours. Challenge: The slab had to stay on the building schedule while other trades were already mobilized around the bay. Approach: Hoss reviewed access, joints, and mix with the superintendent, then sequenced the pours so the next trade could follow each phase. Result: The slab was placed in the planned phases and turned over ready for the following trade. ## Retail Site Concrete — Wake Forest URL: https://hossassociates.com/projects/wake-forest-site-concrete Service: Commercial Concrete Parking area, curb and gutter, sidewalks, and a dumpster pad. Challenge: Drainage and curb lines had to meet the civil plan before the building opened to traffic. Approach: Crews formed curb and flatwork to the drawings, checked slopes before the pour, and kept the superintendent posted on weather holds. Result: The site concrete package was completed to the plan and opened with the rest of the site. ## Tenant Build-Out — Raleigh URL: https://hossassociates.com/projects/raleigh-tenant-buildout Service: General Contracting Interior build-out with framing, drywall, and finishes under one contract. Challenge: The tenant needed a single contractor while the building stayed in operation around the suite. Approach: Hoss ran schedule, procurement, and trade coordination from a single project lead, with concrete and framing self-performed. Result: The suite was walked at the end of the job with one team responsible for the punch list. ## Metal Stud Interior — Durham URL: https://hossassociates.com/projects/durham-metal-stud-framing Service: Framing Light-gauge metal stud framing for a commercial interior. Challenge: Openings and layout had to be accurate so doors, casework, and finishes would land without rework. Approach: Layout was checked against the drawings before board went up, with plumb openings and straight walls for the trades behind the frame. Result: Framing was turned over ready for the next trade without a layout redo. ## Stamped Patio — Cary URL: https://hossassociates.com/projects/cary-stamped-patio Service: Residential Concrete Stamped patio and walkway with integral color. Challenge: The existing surface was worn, and a patch would have telegraphed through the new finish. Approach: Hoss replaced the full surface: grade, base, reinforcement, stamp pattern, and cure, using the same preparation standard as commercial flatwork. Result: A finished outdoor space with consistent color, joints, and drainage away from the house. ## Driveway Replacement — Wake Forest URL: https://hossassociates.com/projects/wake-forest-driveway Service: Residential Concrete Full driveway replacement with proper base, slope, and drainage. Challenge: The old drive had failed because water sat against the garage and the base had settled. Approach: The replacement started with removal, a rebuilt base, and slope that moves water off the slab before the truck arrived. Result: A new driveway with clean joints and drainage planned before the finish. ## About URL: https://hossassociates.com/about Luke A. Masinick is President.
